1-2 Years Room

As your child develops and is able to walk unaided they will move into our 1-2 Year Olds Room, which is very spacious and has a separate ‘wet/messy’ play area.

Through free and structured play children have fun and continue to develop:

• Social skills, sharing and forming positive relationships
• Speech and language
• Colour and shape recognition
• Hand-eye coordination by doing jigsaws, modelling and sorting games
• Fine motor skills such as mark making and drawing
• Gross motor skills such as throwing and climbing
• Spatial awareness through outdoor play
• Independence through choosing what to play with

Our outdoor area has two sections. A soft surface area with slides, climbing equipment, ride-on toys and a construction site for digging.

 

Daily Routine

08.00	Children arrive at Nursery / free play
09.00	Hand washing and breakfast time
09.30	Free play / messy activities
10.00	Sleep time for children that require it or creative activities
11.00	Outdoor time in the outdoor area or a walk around the Village or woods / nappy change
12.00	Hand washing and lunch time
12.30	Sleep time for children that require it or quiet time
13.45	Outdoor time in the outdoor area
14.00	Nappy change
15.00	Hand washing and tea time
15.30	Craft / messy activities or free play
17.00	Hand washing and snack time / nappy change
18.00	Home time, Parents will be briefed about their child’s day

Children can arrive and be picked up at any time during the day.
