"Leadership and management are exemplary. The enthusiastic management team drives forward improvements in the nursery and support staff, who are eager to do their very best for the children in their care. Staff have the supervision and encouragement to develop skills to enable them to continuously seek more ways to enhance the learning opportunities for children.

Well-trained staff make frequent observations and robust assessments of children's learning and development. This supports the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching so that all children make the best possible progress.

Careful monitoring and review of children's progress ensures that management and staff quickly identify and address any gaps in children's development.

Keeping children safe is paramount to all staff. Staff complete comprehensive risk assessments and remain vigilant in their supervision of children. Nursery policies are detailed and meticulous around children's welfare and protection from harm. Children show they feel very safe and secure with staff.

Staff have highly effective partnerships with parents, schools and community health professionals, in order to offer excellent support to children."

"One of my most enjoyable duties as Her Majesty's Chief Inspector is to celebrate the success of those providers that were judged to be outstanding when they were inspected. Please accept my warmest congratulations on achieving this very high standard of practice.

The judgement of outstanding means that your setting is exceptional and significant elements of your work are exemplary. I do not underestimate the considerable hard work, expertise and commitment it takes to achieve outstanding provider status."

Miriam Rosen, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector, letter to Oakmere October 2011
